It has been literally over a year since I picked up my camera, I have been so bogged down with work and uni studies I have not had a chance to do anything, hopefully I'll be able to make some time to get in touch with my creative side again

Finally exams are over and now I can get to work and finish off my website that I'm planning to get up and running for my photography. I haven't been out to take many shots lately because I've been busy with work and all and the days that I don't work, it's been rainy and gloomy

Bought a nice Canon BG-E2 grip too which suits nicely and is probably the last piece of gear I will buy until I save enough money (or get a good tax return) and get my Canon 10-22mm lens. Yes I have decided on the Canon over the Sigma equivalent

Also, I am selling my 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens for $450 AUD if anyone was interested. Feel free to send me a note

I haven't taken that many pictures for a couple months because I've been busy with uni and work and all, exams are coming up soon but hopefully after that I'm able to get my head into it and shoot!

So I've finally decided to buy a wide angle lens and still tossing up between the Canon 10-22 and the Sigma 10-20, what to do people!?

Also thinking of tossing my 17-85mm away and buying the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8. Any opinons?

I eventually got over my EOS 400D, I sold it along with my 18-55 and 75-300 twin lens kit and bought a Canon EOS 40D

Now my current setup is made up of a Canon EOS 40D, 17-85 f/4-f/5.6 IS USM, 50mm f/1.8, 420ex and next on my list to purchase with the camera is probably a battery grip before I head into buy a 10-22 wide angle lens from Canon, or I most probably end up getting the 10-22 from sigma equivalent.

Don't know if I added in my last journal entry or not but I ended up getting a Velbon P-Max tripod and a Lowepro Fastpack 250, a Hoya 67mm UV Filter and 17-85mm Lens hood.

More gear but for cheap!

Not using my Apple Macbook as much anymore because I am now using a tiny Asus U1F 11.1" notebook.

Bought more gear for my camera such as a 420ex flash and a 17-85 f/4-5.6 IS USM lens, next on the list is a lowepro laptop/camera bag and a tripod, haven't decided which tripod I want yet but leaning towards the manfrotto range.

Don't use my IXUS 800 any more as I have upgraded to a IXUS 860 IS

Also bought a few more things for my 400D such as a battery grip, 50mm f/1.8, 2 more NB-2L batteries, Hoya UV Filters and Flower hood for my old 18-55.
Planning on buying the 24-70 but it is quite expensive so I don't know if I'll go a different option or just save and buy that.

I don't even use the 75-300 lens at all anymore so I might sell that off cheap on eBay or something.

Also on my 'To Buy:" list is a nice sturdy tripod for me to experiment with HDR photography, I'm still having a bit of trouble smoothing out after they have been joined though.

Also again, bought a Macbook (2.2Ghz, 2GB ram, 120GB HDD) with Aperture 2 so fingers crossed I can use that to it's full abilities soon

All my pictures were taken with my Canon IXUS 800 digital camera, I have now been taking pictures with my Canon EOS 400D + 18-55mm lens (I will be buying a new lens and posting up my new shots soon).

My trusty old IXUS 800 (SD700) isn't fulfilling it's duties as much as I want it to these days, I love shooting at night time and unfortunately the flash isn't quite strong enough. I'll still be using it in conjunction with my new dSLR though.
